Would you read a book that started like this?
Have you ever looked at a tree and wondered how it got there? What its story was? How many years it had been around? How many storms it had weathered and beautiful seasons it had experienced? How many times it had been close to death then by some unknown miracle it began to sprout new growth, life from the seemingly unknown channels of the universe…a power so great somewhere that it produced new beautiful buds on a an unassuming otherwise destined for extinction tree. And yet have you ever really looked a tree? Even when completely barren of fruit or foliage its so majestic and beautiful. All trees have a story to tell.
Stories of how their branches formed creating a path in there journey. How their seedlings dropped creating new life nd family. How their trunks gre creating circles to count the years of life and mark for us their everlasting presences and wrinkles of experience. How their foliage buds in the spring, celebrating the new life of the season and the hope and promise of good and new things to come. How the buds explode into full bloom and the fruit develops into delectable treats in the summer for the entire planet; human, animal, and seeds to continue the lineage of the tree. How the leaves change in the autumn burning with warmth, passion, and desire reminding us to get ready to hold dear to us those that we love if, and when, then fall. Then finally in the winter barren of all fruit and foliage the tree still stands firm and strong, demonstrating its strength through the weather. Bending in the wind but not breaking. The assumedly frail barren tree, showing its determination to weather the bitterness brought on by the world and the winter season. Bearing the weight of the cruelty of nature, bearing the weight of the accumulating snow, bending, and cracking, yet not breaking and somehow; still appearing graceful and beautiful on a winters morn glistening with a coat of fresh snow and ice.
The tree is able to stay strong as although it is a tree, it has hope and knows that in time there is the promise that in time spring will come again filled with warmth, love, and new fruit and foliage once again.
If you think about the above analogy, our lives are much akin to that of a tree. We weather our own personal storms, we go through our own life seasons, we each have our own branches and foliage we shed and fruit we bear, we all have many circles on our trunk – some of us more than others.
This is my analogy and story of life. I hope you enjoy what I’ve written and find some inspiration for your own life in some way. Some of the following events are true, some are complete fiction and of those, I’m hoping they are a branch that has yet to sprout or a bud that has yet to bloom on an existing branch.
Part of the mystery in life is waiting to see what is around the corner on the journey...
